Despite limited odds of successfully getting anything, I tried to capture the aurora borealis early Friday morning. It could be seen much further south than usual due to a strong geomagnetic storm occurring at the time. Though my eyes could easily make out the green banding along the northern horizon, my camera had difficulty doing the same due to heavy light pollution and shorter exposures to compensate. Distant low cloud during the strongest period did not help the situation either. Traveling into the country was not an option but hopefully you can make out the greenish tinge. Another CME is forecast to impact the earth Saturday into Sunday.
