In Like a Lamb...

Welcome to March, my favorite month. Ever since deactivating my Facebook account last week, things have been very quiet. The catalyst for doing so stemmed from a private misunderstanding however, the timing was such that it coincided with Lent so I decided also to make it that which I would abstain from for the duration. I had been contemplating deactivation for some time now as I have been spending entirely way too much time with Facebook and almost instantly, have found myself productive again. Inability to conveniently see what is going in other people's lives and especially those who are known for producing is difficult but the lack of notice by nearly 100% of my contacts since disappearing has been sobering. Maybe I will be back, maybe I won't but in the meantime I am just glad to be knocking out various small projects and feeling a slight sense of accomplishment.

Hard to believe we are almost halfway through the month yet there really hasn't been much to write about. I had hoped for a few photographic opportunities by now which hasn't quite panned out. Yesterday was of course the anniversary of the Six State Supercell and one of the biggest events I have ever witnessed. March 12, 2011 on the other hand is a far cry from how that day unfolded. Since yesterday's weather was mild, I took the chance to get out for a walk. As much as I have been looking forward to a day like this one, I wasn't quite feeling it. Thoughts about bills, repairs, money, etc. and trying to sort it all out has clouded my recent train of thought. As result, I wasn't much into photography and it shows.

As I think about my problems, I also think about and try empathize with what others are struggling with. This underlying train of thought is the reasoning to why I publish as I do so as to hopefully be a positive distraction for others who might be in the same boat. In spite of this and due to events that have eroded my spirit over the past several years, I'm definitely not the happy go lucky guy who started this pawleewurx nonsense a little over 10 years ago. Though I do plan to continue taking pictures or making things, I have a feeling this will be the year for prioritizing and not spending so much time doing life the way I have been. Who knows, but for now, the reset button is being pushed and it is kind of nice.

Well, Mak and I are coming looking for you! FB is addicting. I spend WAY too much time on there BUT on a positive note, I have reconnected with some of my "library kids"--those who were just "tweens" a few years back. I am now able to see their families and also see how they have grown into adults!

I admire you for giving up FB for Lent!

Hey buddy, miss you on FB, but I understand to some extent. I don't have home internet or cable right now and it's probably been the best thing that I've done for myself in a while... I spent way too much time on my home computer. Of course, I do have FB on the phone, but it's more cumbersome and I spend a lot less time on it. Anyway, hope all is well. Don't forget to stop by your blog and say "hi" every once in a while.

6 out of 518 is doing alright, thanks guys. Imagine the feed is jammed with earthquake related material. Such unimaginable loss, I have been glued to the news since witnessing it unfold on live television the other night.

A nice day to see some wildlfe. Nice pictures Paul.

Paul, i'm glad I found you with help from Mary Anne. I hope things are going good for you? I was going to ask you on facebook what you thought of the possible severe weather next week but couldn't find you in my friends list. I put your name in the search bar and your name didn't even come up. First thought was, what's going on. I messaged Mary Anne and she told me she left a message on your blog. Taking a break from FB, allowing you to pick up that drawing pencil again is all good. I can tell you this- you better believe I, and others, enjoy seeing your artwork and your photography. You might not realize that by seeing your GREAT artwork, photography it does brighten our days. Just like I want to see what you think about upcoming storm systems also. I know it is a severe brainfart on my part for not posting on your blog here for a very long time. It's just that I posted on your FB page. Paul, don't ever think you aren't missed, because you definitely are missed. I thought maybe you went to Urbana to where the democrats are holed up in the hotel and you were telling them to get back to Indiana. Longest blog comment ever = winning!

At least I can keep up with your blog to see your latest shots. Just keep doing what you are doing man. I have the same daily life worries too, but its our passions that maintain our sanity and without it all those life worries are even more meaningless, never lose sight of that.
