Shortly after dawn this past Saturday morning as we were leaving the store, I noticed distant fog on the western horizon. My daughter and I took a short drive to investigate and were treated to a remarkable landscape transformation as result of supercooled water vapor vs. a morning low of 10°. Everything was covered in hoar frost with some crystal accretions exceeding one inch! It truly was a winter wonderland in Northwest Macon County Illinois.
So thick that it was condensing on her hair!

In other news, on my main Website, the Weather and Nature categories have been updated to feature new galleries for my 2015 material. Though I have been quiet with this blog, I have remained busy throughout the year to acquire much that has not been seen here. Feel free to have a look and thank you for visiting!
